Cheney, Wash. – Sophomore soccer student-athlete Chloe Williams and redshirt junior football student-athlete Cooper Kupp have been selected by the Eastern Washington University Athletics Department as its September Scholar-Athletes of the Month, as announced Wednesday, Oct. 7.
A Spokane, Wash., native, Williams owns a 3.56 grade point average as an exercise science major. Kupp hails from Yakima, Wash., and sports a 3.52 GPA as an economics major.
Williams propelled EWU Soccer to a perfect 7-0 record for the month of September, including Big Sky Conference road victories over Weber State and Idaho State. She scored in all but one of the Eagles’ seven matches, recording seven goals while adding a pair of assists.
Kupp had a September for the record books, notching 759 receiving yards on just 46 catches while hauling in 10 touchdown catches. He set new Autzen Stadium records with 15 receptions and 246 receiving yards en route to scoring three touchdowns against then-No. 8 Oregon on Sept. 6. He also scored three times against Montana State on Sept. 19, finishing with 201 receiving yards on 12 catches.
