Classes at EWU and throughout the Inland Northwest are cancelled, however, game will be played at Reese Court in Cheney
For Eastern Washington University basketball fans who need a break from the clean-up efforts after a massive wind storm, free admission is being offered to today's EWU versus Seattle men’s basketball game at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash., at 12:30 p.m. Pacific time.
The storm, with sustained winds of 40-miles per hour and gusts of up to 70 creating widespread power outages and unsafe travel conditions, forced the delay of the game by 18 1/2 hours. Power was restored to campus early this morning, and with both teams and officials waiting out the storm, the decision was made to play.
The Eastern athletic department decided to allow free admission as well, to enable those who are still without power and others who need a break from clean-up efforts a place to go. Classes at EWU and at schools throughout the Northwest are cancelled as the result of the historic storm.
