Men’s Tennis Battles with Northern Arizona with Two Games Left In Final Road Trip of the Year

Flagstaff, Ariz. – With only two games left in the Eastern Washington University men tennis team's final road trip of the year, the Eagles battled hard against fellow Big Sky Conference member Northern Arizona, but fell by the final score of 7-0 on Wednesday, Mar. 25.

Eastern (4-12) is now 6-9 all time when playing the Lumberjacks who currently hold first place in the Big Sky with a conference record of 4-0.

In the closest match of the day for the Eagles, sophomore Robert Dula, who missed Eastern's last match due to injury, went toe-to-toe with NAU's best player of Jordan Gobatie in the first position. Throughout the match, Dula found a handful of game wins, but was eventually defeated by a final tally of 6-4, 6-3.

Junior Eduardo Bringold, and sophomores Wacil Bendjelti and Rendell Burghart also played close matches, each falling to their respective opponents by the scores of 6-3, 6-2.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, Mar. 28, where they will face Boise State at 6:30 p.m., in Boise, Idaho, before taking on Portland State in Portland, Ore., on Saturday, Apr. 4, at 1:00 p.m.
