Men’s Tennis Set to Close Regular Season with Three-Game Home Stretch

Cheney, Wash. – With just over a week left in the regular season, the Eastern Washington University men's tennis team will close out the year at home with three Big Sky Conference matches versus North Dakota on Friday, Apr. 10, at 1:00 p.m., and Montana on Sunday, Apr. 12, at 10:30 a.m.

For the season finale and senior day, the Eagles will match up with Idaho on Tuesday, Apr. 14, at 3:00 p.m.

In the contest against the Grizzlies, the match will feature opportunities for fans to win free pizza, taco coupons throughout the match. Head coach Steve Clark will also be holding a clinic for juniors in the surrounding area. Admission is free for each match.

Eastern (5-13) most recently went toe-to-toe with Portland State, in Portland, Ore., on Friday, Apr. 3, defeating the Vikings by a final tally of 6-1. EWU opened up the match by securing the early doubles point, while later earning a total of five singles wins en route to the victory. Sophomores Robert Dula and Wacil Bendjelti, and juniors Eduardo Martinez and Eduardo Bringold all earned wins along with freshman Vuk Vuckovic and senior Stefan Farrar.

Since North Dakota has entered the league the Eagles are undefeated when playing UND. Against Montana and Idaho, Eastern will look to get its first win over the Grizzlies and Vandals since 2011 and 2009, respectively.
