Following Solid End to the Season, Sophomore Robert Dula Wins Player of the Week Honors

Official Release

Ogden, Utah – After helping secure the first win over Idaho since 2009, sophomore Robert Dula of the Eastern Washington University men's tennis team has been named as the final Big Sky Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, Apr. 21.

It is the second weekly honor from the league in Dula's career, receiving the same award as a freshman in 2014.

This week's award for the sophomore from Rijeka, Croatia comes after he helped the Eagles snag a 4-3 win over Idaho, defeating UI's number one player Odon Barta 7-6 (6), 3-5, 6-4, while pairing up with junior Eduardo Martinez to take down the combination of Varney and Salazar, 6-3, in doubles.

Dula, who finished 9-10 in singles, was integral in Eastern's late season success, winning four straight matches at the number position, as EWU won three of its last four matches to finish at seventh in the conference, one spot away from competing in the Big Sky Championship.
