Jodi Page Joins @EWUWBB Coaching Staff

Cheney, Wash. – Eastern Washington University Women's Basketball head coach Wendy Schuller announced the hiring of Jodi Page as assistant coach Friday, Oct. 23, completing the Eagles' coaching staff in time for the 2015-16 season.

Page comes to EWU after serving as the head coach of the Maroochydore Clippers' U-18 girls team in Australia from 2012-15.

"We're very excited to have Jodi join our program," said EWU head coach Wendy Schuller. "Her background in international basketball will help us in a lot of ways. From a recruiting standpoint, Australia produces very skilled basketball players, and we're excited to tap into that landscape. I know my staff and I are looking forward to learning from her in terms of styles of play and skill development and really understand a different type of basketball.

"She's a teacher at heart, so I know she'll do a great job in relating to our players," Schuller continued. "She has also gone through the recruiting process as a parent, and I love that perspective that she's going to bring. I think she's a really good fit in terms of her demeanor and desire to help take our program to the next level."

Page's main duties at Eastern will concern travel and other administrative duties in the office while also assisting with recruiting and on-court skill development with the Eagles' guards. She will also assist with EWU's summer camps, focusing on the Eagles' camps for younger children.

Page played college basketball at San Jose State University, graduating with a degree in psychology in the spring of 1990. She returned to her native Australia and played professionally for the Maroochydore Clippers, setting a team record with 324 games played.

Page has experience coaching both professional teams and at primary and secondary schools in Australia. Her son, Jorden, played basketball at Saint Mary's while her daughter, Soraya, currently plays basketball at Florida International.
