Ogden, Utah – Sophomore forward Chloe Willioams has been named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Williams, a Spokane native, scored three goals and assisting on a fourth in Eastern's two matches this past week, leading the Eagles to road wins over Valparaiso and Green Bay. It is the second weekly honor from the conference in her career.
She provided the final pass on EWU's opening goal against Valparaiso last Friday, Sept. 11, before scoring the game-winner in double overtime. Eastern's win over the Crusaders, an NCAA Tournament team a season ago, marked just the third home loss in 21 matches for Valpo dating back to 2013.
Against Green Bay on Sunday, Sept. 13, she scored twice in a span of five minutes in the first half, turning an early one-goal deficit into a 2-1 advantage for the Eagles.
Williams now has six goals on the season, good for second in the Big Sky. After scoring six goals in her first year in Cheney, she now ranks fifth all-time in school history with 12 career goals.
Eastern will conclude its Midwest road trip tomorrow, Sept. 16, against UIC in Chicago, Ill. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. PST.
