Ogden, Utah – Eastern Washington University Soccer sophomore midfielder Aimie Inthoulay has been named the Big Sky Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Inthoulay, a Seattle native, scored crucial goals in both of EWU's matches this past week, propelling Eastern into a tie for second place in the conference standings with one match remaining.
She put the stamp on the Eagles' miraculous comeback against Northern Colorado last Friday, Oct. 23, as her goal in the 71st minute tied the score at 2-2, erasing what had been a two-goal deficit. Her goal against UNC was her first of the season.
She scored the game-winner versus North Dakota on Sunday, Oct. 25, converting from the penalty spot in the 56th minute. The victory gave EWU six Big Sky wins, a new program record for league victories in a season.
Eastern wraps up league play this week with a road match at regular season champion Idaho this Friday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m. PST. The Eagles, having already clinched a bid to the Big Sky Championship, are still in the running for the tournament's No. 2 seed, but need a win, or a draw and a Northern Colorado draw or loss, to do so.
